Jo’sya Gomez-Sharp, Peer Mentorship Lead

Jo’sya Gomez-Sharp is a youth leader working to inspire, support, and motivate young people to reach their potential and make positive change. Having experienced both foster care and adoption, Jo’sya carries a deep understanding of the challenges system-impacted youth face and channels that lived experience into powerful, heart-centered leadership.

He began his advocacy journey with Progeny, a youth-led campaign in Kansas whose mission is to close the state’s last youth prison and build community-based alternatives rooted in healing and opportunity. Through Progeny, Jo’sya found his voice as an organizer and began speaking out about youth justice, family separation, and the need for systems transformation.

Today, Jo’sya serves as the Peer Mentorship Lead with The Lost & Found Institute, where he walks alongside young people navigating trauma, transition, and self-discovery. He creates safe, supportive spaces where youth can grow, lead, and imagine new futures for themselves — and for the systems meant to serve them.

Grounded, compassionate, and committed to liberation, Jo’sya is a powerful example of youth leadership in action.
